In short
- All data, photos included, exists on your phone only, in the app's private storage.
- No account, no server, no cloud, no adverts, no usage tracking, no notifications.
- You add photos with the Android photo picker; the app asks for no camera or storage permission.
- The only thing that can leave the phone is a PDF that you create and you share.
- Nothing is backed up: if the phone is lost or reset, the journal cannot be restored.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the Android app Beauty Treatment Journal (package name: beautytreatment.journal.app) and describes how the app actually behaves.
For every question, including questions about privacy and your data, there is one address: [email protected]
Data the app handles
You enter all of it yourself, and nothing is required except a treatment's name and date.
| Data | Examples | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Journal entries | treatment name, date, salon or professional, duration, products, cost, satisfaction, notes | in the app's private database on the phone |
| Planned appointments | date, treatment, expected cost | same place |
| Your professional's advice | free text, who gave it, date | same place |
| Templates, categories, goals and ticked days | a template's name and details, a category's name and colour, a goal's title and frequency, the days ticked | same place |
| First name (optional) | shown in the journal's greeting and in the PDF header | same place |
| Photos | the before and after photos you choose; they may show your face or body | in the app's private photo folder on the phone |
| Settings | language, currency, the photo privacy options | in the same database |
What stays on the phone
Everything. The app has no account, no server, no cloud sync, no usage tracking and no adverts, and it has no internet permission.
The app's publisher never receives any user data, and so cannot see it, restore it or delete it.
Photos
- You add photos with the Android system photo picker. The app has no access to the gallery as a whole and asks for no storage, media or camera permission.
- The app keeps a downscaled copy of the chosen photo, without EXIF metadata, in its own private storage, so the original's location and camera data are not kept in it. The original in your gallery is not changed, moved or deleted.
- The app never writes photos to the phone's shared gallery.
- A copy is deleted when you delete its journal entry (after the short undo period), when you remove the photo from the entry, when you choose “Delete all data” and when you uninstall the app.
Two optional settings help if someone else may look at your phone; both are off by default. With “Hide photos” switched on, photos are covered until you tap them. With “Block screenshots” switched on, no screenshot or recording can be taken of the app, and it is covered in the recent apps view as well.
What can leave the phone
Only a PDF that you create on the export screen and then send somewhere yourself through the Android share sheet.
- The PDF is made on the phone.
- Photos are only included if you switch that on for the export; it is off by default.
- You choose the app or person that receives it. From then on the file is outside the app and is your responsibility.
- The last exported file remains in the app's private cache until the next export, until you use “Delete all data” or until you uninstall the app.
Backup
The app is excluded from Android cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer.
As a consequence the data cannot be recovered after you uninstall the app, or reset or lose the phone, and it is not moved to a new phone.
Permissions
The app asks for no permission while it runs. Its package contains one install-time permission, DETECT_SCREEN_CAPTURE. The library behind the optional “Block screenshots” setting requires it; it gives no access to data.
The app sends no notifications either: planned appointments appear in the calendar and in the lists.
Third parties
None. The app includes no software package (SDK) that transmits data.
Google Play distributes the app. How Google handles installs and purchases (the app has none) is covered by Google's own policies.
Retention and deletion
Data is kept on the phone until you delete it.
- In the app you can delete a single entry, piece of advice, template, goal or category.
- Settings → “Delete all data” removes everything at once, including the photos and the PDF in the cache.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything as well.
Because the publisher holds none of your data, there is nothing to request from it: it has nothing to hand over, correct or delete. If you have a question, this address reaches us all the same: [email protected]
Children
The app is not directed at children. Its target audience on Google Play is adults (18 and over).
Not a medical service
The app is a personal diary. It gives no medical or cosmetic advice, makes no diagnosis and does not assess your skin or your health. The “Advice” section contains only what you write.

Changes
If a later version of the app were to send anything off the phone (sync, backup, analytics, crash reports, an account), this policy will be updated before that version is released. The date of the last change is at the top of this page.
